Catching Fire
Catching
Fire! No, I am not talking about the movie
but my school. Don’t worry, be happy,
your child was in no danger at any time.
It all started when I sauntered down to the teacher’s lounge and put my
Smart One (Chicken Fajita’s) in the microwave for a little longer than I should
have; time got away from me when I got involved in a conversation discussing excellent
strategies for enhancing student motivation and fostering intellectual agility
(wink, wink).
Suddenly I
realized smoke was billowing out of the microwave. Panicking, I flew around the teacher’s lounge
like a hyperventilating superhero opening windows and fanning! Through this ordeal, I was silently praying, “Dear
God, please don’t let the fire alarm go off!”
I could just imagine the school secretary calling the fire department
and saying, “There’s a fire, bring water and bring Dalmatians!” This would mean
the entire school would be evacuated (during lunch), and ALL teachers would
dislike - no, HATE me. When the smoke
finally thinned out, and the alarm had not gone off, I wanted to get on
the school intercom and lead the entire school in the song, ”Praise God from
whom all Blessings Flow,” but figured I might be fired or baker acted.
Oh sure,
there were haters up and down the hall due to the lingering atrocious smell, but
I just kept smiling to myself and thanking God for his GRACE. I just hope the school does not still have that
burned caramel popcorn smell tomorrow!

Selfies
My first selfie. According to the Urban Dictionary, a selfie is a picture taken of
yourself that is planned to be uploaded to a social networking website. It also goes on to say that you can usually
see the person’s arm holding out the camera in which case you can clearly tell
that this person does not have any friends to take pictures of them. I guess there are some people who take
selfies because they are bored at work, bored at school, or bored at home. Another words, people will take selfies
because they have nothing else better to do. As I look at my first selfie, I would say the
moral of this is, friends don’t let friends selfie.

Dogs
I don’t have a dog, but if I did, I bet he would have the
attitude of this dog!
I don’t have a dog for a pet, yet
But if I did I’d call him Bill
and I’d make sure he took his daily pill.
I’d dress him in cute vests
and make sure he got lots of rest.
I’d teach him not to be rude
but I’m sure he’d be very crude.

Smiling
Smiling on cue is so hard to do when you're only two or a dog! This smile makes me smile! (Grandson, Cross)

Cats
Cat Bearding is a photo fad that involves positioning a cat in front of your face in such a manner that the feline’s fur appears as if it is part of your facial hair. All you need is a pliable cat (preferably a drugged cat) and a camera. Just snap and you have the purrrrfect photo. Crazy, I know, but it is your choice: Cat Bearding, Harlem Shake, or Planking.
